Leather Shoe & Sandal Sizing Guide

We size our shoes, boots, and sandals in UK sizing, the standard used across South African footwear. If you're used to shopping in EU or US sizes, here's how to measure your foot and convert with confidence before you order.

Measure your foot at home

• Stand on a sheet of paper on a hard floor, with your heel against a wall
• Mark the tip of your longest toe on the paper (this isn't always your big toe)
• Measure the straight-line distance from the wall edge to that mark, in centimetres
• Measure both feet — most people have one foot slightly larger than the other — and size for the larger one
• Measure in the evening if you can; feet swell slightly over the course of the day

Once you have your foot length in centimetres, use it alongside the chart below rather than relying on the size you "normally" wear in a different brand — sizing varies enough between manufacturers that foot length is the more reliable reference point.

UK / EU / US size conversion

• UK 3 → EU 35–36 → US Women's 5.5 · Foot length ≈ 22.5 cm
• UK 4 → EU 37 → US Women's 6.5 · Foot length ≈ 23.5 cm
• UK 5 → EU 38 → US Women's 7.5 · Foot length ≈ 24 cm
• UK 6 → EU 39–40 → US Women's 8.5 / Men's 7 · Foot length ≈ 25 cm
• UK 7 → EU 41 → US Men's 8 · Foot length ≈ 26 cm
• UK 8 → EU 42 → US Men's 9 · Foot length ≈ 27 cm

This chart is a standard reference and a good starting point, but it's not a substitute for measuring — brands (including handmade, small-batch ones) vary by a few millimetres from the average. If your measurement falls right between two sizes, it's usually safer to size up, particularly for smooth leather styles that have less give than suede.

Fit notes for handcrafted leather

Because each pair is handcrafted rather than injection-molded, genuine leather uppers soften and mold to your foot over the first few wears — so a new pair that feels snug out of the box, particularly across the widest part of the foot, will usually ease slightly with wear rather than staying tight.
